Main Street Station Casino

I went to check out the Main Street station casino this past weekend. My husband and I had passed it so many times that we finally decided to go in. As soon as we entered I have to admit that despite my preconceived notions I was impressed by the fact that it did not look like a generic casino. It had tons of culture and wonderful artifacts. It almost felt like I was in a museum with slot machines in it. We spend the first few minutes looking around and getting background information on the casino from the brochures. The casino procured various antiques from across the country in order to create a really authentic-looking building. It is reminiscent of a train station/museum overall..and then there's the casino. After checking the place out, we decided to go to the pub and brewery for a...

Divine Calling

Do you ever get the nudge to do something spectacular or phenomenal? Maybe a whisper hits your ears to jump into another aspect of work or energy flows right through you causing shivers. It is most likely your divine calling or intuition telling you to do something else in life other than what you are doing now.      At times it is difficult to ascertain what it is that the universe wants us to do. Follow your heart and your career choice. There are many out there to choose from. The metaphysical or paranormal worlds can be very complicated and there are so many that say they have all the right answers; but these answers really lie within all of us, and not one person has them.      This Divine Calling is something not all...

Boyz II Men at the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas

Recently, I went to the Boyz II Men concert at the Mirage on the Las Vegas strip. For any one who is contemplating whether or not they should see this show I will put your fears to rest..SEE IT! Growing up with their music as well as En Vogue, Whitney Houston, and other great R&B artists, you come to appreciate "good" music and it brings a strong sense of nostalgia when you listen to it. When I arrived at The Mirage casino and walked toward the theater, there were attendants there to direct me to where I needed to go according to my ticket. They told me about the concession stand where I could purchase snacks and drinks if I chose to. I thought it was pretty cool. Despite the fact that that the theater looked so formal it really was not. The dress code was semi-casual although I saw a...

Different Perspectives

Whenever you step into a room and observe two people talking, what are the first words that come to mind? "What are they discussing or are they talking about you?" The perspective that needs to be viewed first is, there are two people communicating ideas and thoughts. That is a good thing.      View the two being in a different light for once. When we can see things differently then the mind opens up and understands a larger world view. See things from a child's eye. Does it differ from yours? Of course it does veer off onto a new path where new ideas form every second. Be the child for once or perhaps the elderly person that has seen many perspectives during their lifetime. Different perspectives can accomplish much in this ever changing world. There are many people...

Meditating anyway you feel like it!

To meditate is bliss, or so they say. Ii can be if done to your energy's specs. Meditation does not mean that you need to be sitting for hours on end without speaking, it can be a walking meditation in nature or in the woods or even by the ocean. You do not have to sit in order to discover your inner bliss.      I find meditation so useful and relaxing no matter where I am, as long as no distractions are around to pull me away. Calming the inner mind is soothing and allows one to acknowledge how much they really needed to meditate and find that center within.      Music also helps in this meditation process. A good zen music puts one right at home for furthering their inner peace. I have found some terrific music that I use...

What makes a good psychic reading?

When you find a psychic the first thing you should ask for is to see their testimonials and always ask a friend for a referral. Referrals are best when searching for someone reputable and honest. There are too many phony psychics out there wanting to pick your pockets dry.      A good psychic never asks too many questions. Many will ask for your name, where you reside (state or country) or your birth date, and if they ask numerous other questions that is called fishing. When a psychic fishes, they are not really interested in helping you find the answers, they are wanting to know more about you and your situation so they can play upon your vulnerabilities. This is not a good psychic.      Always ask around for someone that understands...

The El Cortez Hotel and Casino

When most people think about Vegas, they think about the Vegas Strip. However, there is a lot to be said for many of the off-strip casinos. One of my personal favorites is the El Cortez Hotel and Casino. This is located in the downtown area of Las Vegas on Fremont Street. This is a small, old-school casino without a lot of the flash that you would normally see on the Las Vegas strip. This casino is mostly frequented by "locals". It is super dark, super smoky, and super dated but somehow I still go there a lot. It has more of a down-home feel. You do not have to get all snazzy to walk into the place and you don't have to spend $30 just to get a good burger (Cafe Cortez actually has a $5 burger and beer special). One particularly off-putting thing is that some of the patrons (and I use this...

Personal Demonic Experience

11/12/2012 The time was 1:30-2:00 am when I first felt the negative entity pushing upon me in our living room. I had been ill and was sleeping in the chair to avoid lying flat. I was unable to breathe if I was flat on a bed. I saw the demon with my eyes. It was standing near the stationary bike then I saw it in the hallway. It just stared back at me with it dark hallow eyes. It was black all over and had horns protruding from its head. I could sense what it was capable of. It could have killed me. I also heard it speak to me using telepathy. I feared this thing and didn’t know what to do when it attempted to get inside me. It was able to accomplish this task and I felt some of what it knew. The evil this demon possessed was incredible. I felt as it came from the state of Conn. It never...

Clearing with the sun's energy

We have all been in need of clearing our energy after enduring a rough conversation or watching a horror flick; each of these are difficult to shake or forget. These energies tend to stay with us for the long run. They grab hold and refuse to let go. These kinds of energies penetrate our very soul when we hang on to them and don’t clear them deliberately, purposefully. I have discovered that after a harsh day at work I need rid my body of the thick, tension that I consider unhealthy. It is wise to find ways of letting go or releasing the stress that builds up after each day, besides exercise, the sun is helpful in many ways. Some people take salt water baths with sea salt or they might toss in their favorite herbs, while others go and stand in the sun. The sun is the perfect clearing device...

Fanboy Frenzy!

PC is better than Mac hands down, you know that right? Everyone knows that and if you believe any different you are a fool! How could you not know that PCs are more reasonably-priced and just a better buy overall for the average user? Macs are for crazy people who don't know anything about quality, value, or performance. For the price of one Mac I can buy 3 PCs! Had you going there for a minute didn't I? Well..as much as I used to be a die-hard PC fan, I am now looking into Macs and Alienware because I feel that they may actually provide more performance and be better suited to our needs. I just wanted to see how people would react to such a statement. Recently I was talking to my husband about the concept of "fanboyism". What is fanboyism you ask? It is when someone is so dedicated to...

Talking 2 Animals

We have all talked to animals at one time or another. And many of us wonder what they are thinking. Whether we are at home or on a walk with our dogs we wonder, do they really listen? Animal Communication has come into its own within the last thirty or so years, and yielded positive results. When one learns how to talk with the animals it takes patience, perseverance, and lots of confidence. Not everyone succeeded on the first try. Humans need to have a calm mind and an open heart whenever communicating with animals telepathically. Meditation can help quiet our monkey minds and although not all humans gain a thorough understanding of this silent communication at first, just keep at it, you will eventually get it. It just takes practice. When...

Oculus Rift will change the world!

Move over traditional gaming with your 2D worlds, there's a new sheriff in town. Oculus Rift is one the newest and coolest gadgets on the planet! Oculus Rift was developed by Palmer Luckey who was an engineer at  USC's Institute for Creative Technologies. He used a popular crowd-funding site called Kickstarter to fund this wonderful product. In the past, most 3D technology, specifically virtual reality has been extremely cost-prohibitive with prices ranging from a few hundred to tens-of-thousands of dollars. In addition, VR units were mostly used for military training and therapeutic purposes. Oculus Rift sets out to change that. The developers promise a unit that is both engaging, entertaining, and affordable. Imagine being in a 3D world where you can check out your next house before...

Boston suspect Branden Mattier makes a false bombing claim

Often when tragedies happen on a large scale there is some sort of fund set up. Usually the funds are set up through the families of the victim(s) or some other organization. Unfortunately, out of good intentions bad things sometimes happen. Either fraudulent charities are created to extract money from well-meaning donors or ill-intentioned individuals attempt to extract funds from well-meaning charities. It happened with 9/11, the Aurura, Colorado movie theater shooting, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, etc. On Tuesday, Boston native 22 year-old Branden Mattier was arrested due to a false bombing claim. He attempted to file a claim on behalf of his aunt Onevia Bradley who had been dead for 10 years. An officer arrived at his door with a check and when he accepted the $2.195 million...

Cool bags for dudes!

Father’s day may have just passed but that does not mean you can’t buy that special guy in your life a great gift. We have all done the watches and ties, but have you ever thought of giving a great bag?  Or perhaps you find yourself in need of an excellent way to protect your things and look great while doing it; men have things to carry from point A to point B and there’s no need to juggle keys, wallet, mobile phone and tablet. The right bag can really help, so it might be time to buy a convenient bag to accent your wardrobe.  Modern bags for 2013 include options for the office, the great outdoors, the commute and even for travel. Best of all, many of them do double duty.  Best Bags for Work In the past, a stuffy leather briefcase was the perfect complement to a conservative...

Connecting with Angels

Many believe that angels exist and mingle with humans daily, assisting whenever and where ever they are needed. These divine beings are not only prayed to but are asked to perform miracles when we humans are in need of one. “If you listen closely, you can hear their wings.” A strong belief in angels varies from culture to culture and society to society. They are divine beings that come to us in dreary times in during pleasant occasions. But do angels really exist? The word angel is from Medieval Latin. The masculine name Angelus derived from the name of this heavenly creature. It comes from the Greek word angelos and means "messenger". These “messengers” bring good tidings and warnings whenever it is warranted. Angels are depicted as extraordinarily tall beings with long of medium length...

Michael Jackson: The man..the legend

On the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, many fans gathered outside of his place of rest in Glendale. Despite his death being over four years ago, many people still look upon him with fond memories. Despite his checkered image, nothing has taken away his true fans or overshadowed his talent. From a little shack in Gary, Indiana..a legend was born. What began as backing up his singing alongside his brothers quickly became the newest sensation 'The Jackson 5'. The groups most notable songs included 'ABC' and 'I'll be there'. The group performed under Motown initially but after a decline of sales moved to Epic records under 'The Jacksons'. It was at that time that Randy joined the group and Jermaine stayed behind at 'Motown'. 'The Jacksons' went on to tour around the world and produce...

Does Miley Cyrus support marijuana use?

There is a commonly-held belief that only alcohol is safe to consume. However, this view is becoming challenged more and more everyday. As opposed to giving you my view on the matter, I will present you with the facts and you may come to your own conclusion. Please be aware that ANY substance whether legal or illegal comes with its own risks. While some have higher risks than others, it is important to understand that NO substance should be taken lightly. Recently, Miley Cyrus made the claim that marijuana is safer than alcohol. Ms. Cyrus has certainly come a long way from the innocent Hannah Montana character on Nick. While she did not go into extreme detail, she explained that she has seen others' lives spiral downhill with alcohol but not marijuana. When considering the thought-process...

Assisting Psychic Children

Today’s psychic child knows that if their parents are psychic their stories are believed. Those children feel comfortable about informing their parents whenever they see, hear, or feel anything out of the ordinary or of the paranormal kind. But what if a child has parents that are not tolerant of their child’s sixth sense? These children will suffer when they feel frightened of what they see and cannot turn to their parents for support. I was one of these children growing up, fearing what I saw and sensed. This is not the way a child should grow up. Inside I felt alone and knew that if I told others I would be put down or shunned because of who I was on the inside. This second sight, as it is termed does not disappear when the child is of a certain age—they do not “grow out of it”. Teenagers...

Why did Lil' Wayne trample the American flag?

Lil' Wayne's recent rant has not gone unnoticed. The rap star allegedly trampled the American flag. While he may have just done this to express his views, it was most certainly construed as ignorant and anti-American. There are many people who are fed up with the way things have been in this country for a long time (particularly those in disadvantaged neighborhoods). However, doing something like this may not help one's cause. When we look at American history, many have spoken out against the status quo concerning government. Celebrities often lead the charge against injustice and inequality. From rock stars, to movie stars, to rappers; many speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves. Since celebrities have millions of listening ears and watchful eyes, they can be very effective...

Star Trek Tech

Photo courtesy of: www.flickr.com Konrad Summers Move over Star Trek, the future isn’t just for “Trekkies” anymore. Remember when you used to see such cool gadgets on Star Trek? Well, it looks like there are many things in the sci-fi world that have become a reality. From Bluetooth headsets to Apple Ipads (seem trekkish to you?), we have certainly come a long way with regard to technology and innovation. Recently, Google has really stepped it up with thing such as: Android, driverless cars, and now: Google Glass. Google Glass is one of the most innovative gadgets yet. Google Glass is a mini-computer embedded within a headset. Although the headset does not have any lenses in them at the moment. Google is in talks with sunglasses...

'Superman: Man of Steel' Review

I was pretty excited when I learned that there would be a new 'Superman' movie. Although I have never been into comic books or followed the stories, I was always a fan of good superhero movies. While most superhero movies have had modest beginnings, they have changed in recent years. Whether it is through CGI-based graphics or improved prosthetic and special effects art, superhero movies have certainly benefited from modernity. The last superhero movie I saw before 'Superman: Man of Steel' was 'Iron Man 3' which was a complete departure from the first two of the series (not unlike Superman). However, 'Ironman 3' was a great movie in its own right. Although the story line had taken a slightly different turn, the movie could still be appreciated. 'Superman: Man of Steel' did follow a story...

Revisiting Past lives

Many people believe they have lived more than one lifetime. Is this even possible? According to Past life Regressionists it is very probable that many of our issues stem from a past life. One such issue might be a fear of frogs where the person was thrown into a pit of poisonous frogs and left to die. Another might be the long-held belief that men or women will never be there for you. I have personally discovered that when a person regresses they go back to a time that is pertinent to what they are enduring now. They have a chance to see and feel for themselves what actually happened to them during a specified time period. After knowing and gaining a thorough understanding of an incident that had taken place, they can then move past the issue and move on with their life. My job as a past...

Console Wars: Xbox One vs. PS4

Ah, here we are again, waiting for the return of the newest consoles for the season. We will not mention Nintendo or the Wii. We are going to let them rest in peace (we will deal with that train wreck later). As always, there are Xbox fanboys as well as Playstation. If you ask anyone on either side why their console is better, they will both have valid arguments. However,  with the unveiling of Xbox One, the game is about to change. While the specs are pretty much the same, consumers' decisions will come down to a few things: price, overall game play, privacy, and titles. After Sony's recent unveiling of the PS4, Microsoft should be extremely worried. The Xbox One's unveiling flopped and Microsoft was very vague on the one thing its consumers really care about;  games. Sony has...

The real cost of travel in 2013

Anyone who has ever traveled knows how much fun it can be. However, it can also be stressful, tiring, and expensive. Over the years, the trend seems to be that people are not getting as much bang for their buck. In this economy you would think that businesses would do anything to gain consumers. Although this is true in some cases, it isn’t always. For example, airlines have gone from “free everything” to “free nothing”. Remember when you were able to get in flight meals and premium snacks (if not free at least it was still available)? Nowadays you cannot purchase any hot meals on board flights even in first class. Sometimes premium snacks are not available so you may have to settle for dry pretzels and a half-cup of flat soda. Flying used to be fun, now it’s just work. From being exposed...

Fifth Victim Claimed After Deadly Santa Monica Shooting

Law enforcement announced that the death toll of the horrific Santa Monica shootings rose to 5 on Sunday. During the announcement, police identified the main suspect of the shootings to be a 23 year old male named John Zawahri. Zawahri, previously enrolled at the Santa Monica College in 2010, used an AR-15 automatic assault rifle to make his way nearly a mile down the Santa Monica pier, police officials revealed, firing off more than 1,800 rounds of ammunition as he took the lives of 5 people near the community college. It was also revealed that two of the victims whom were found approximately 20 blocks from the community college campus were Zawahri’s father, 55 year-old Samir Zawahri as well as his older brother, 24 year old Christopher Zawahri. Reports confirmed that once the suspect had...
